Research and Development
Synbiotec is carrying out it's research at UNICAM's
laboratories and claims a great experience in the probiotic field thanks to it's
researchers committed to the advancement of this project from many years in
collaboration with some experts of other European Universities. Most of the
research programs have focused on the relation between diet and colon cancer
using a wide range of techniques including: in vitro methods, animal models and
human trials. Relevant studies among different projects were: 2 studies
supported with finance by the CNR (RAISA and FATMA) and 1 study supported by EU
"AIR 2 CT 94-0933 - "Effect of different dietary carbohydrates on
colon function: design of healthier foods". Among the recent works, the
company has taken into account the European project "QLK1- 2000-00067 - CROWNALIFE:
Functional food, Gut Microflora and Healthy Ageing" focusing on the
preventive capacity of diet and its beneficial effects on the health of elderly
people resulting in the use of functional foods.
